I wanted to post this video, we had tornadoes here yesterday in Virginia. I live 45 minutes from where the destruction is. Its pretty scary getting a phone call from someone saying that a tornado has touched down and it could be heading your way. So it made me wonder, how close have you come to a natural disaster where you have lived or even been?
That's right dude. I completely forgot. Out there in Eastlake, you probably were evacuated.
My girlfriend Becky has a brother who lost his home in the Cedar fire in 2003. Luckily he had some good insurance and has rebuilt. In '03 I wasn't evacuated, but I could see the flames from the kitchen window at the front of my house. Becky was given a voluntary evacuation notice, her house is closer to the foothills than mine.
WE didn't have to leave but we were on alert, so i had the cars packed and ready to roll. We watched the fire come over San Magel and down to lower OTAY lake. The fire got to about 1 mile from our house. INTENSE. Here are some pics of the smoke i have some of the fires i will post later..
I don't know if this counts...but lightning hit our house in Ione once...fried all the phone lines, computer, the tv and caught the carpet on fire...thats considered a natural disaster I think ;)
As far as I know, Scott is living in Hawaii and still fishing. Karla, Scott has no honor and I bet you never rode on the back of a bike with him. He makes the term "crotch rocket" seem like a Vespa in slo-mo. Honestly, I think it is the scaredest I have ever been and the great vee does not scare easily. V
i was in florida when Andrew hit in 92...it was right before i came back to selkirk at my senior year...i had left at the end of my junior year.....des was there too....she had a flight canceled because of it....
