Well tomorrow is the first day of school for the 2008 2009 school year a few changes of changes this year no Mr V new Asst football coach. For me this is the last first day of school for my oldest daughter Sarah. I can still remember the first day of my senior year anyone else having this sort of firsts happening this year? how about things that you remember from your first days of senior year?

First day, senior year.  I had a bad case of "Senior-itis".  I was hanging out in the hall by the pay phone (yes, a pay phone...do any of you post 1990 grads know what a pay phone is?) raising hell, making a lot of noise.  Anyhoo...JB (Mr. Jungblom) told me a few times to calm down.  I did not.  He came out, grabbed me and drug me into Mr. Nicholas' office.  He threw me into a chair and started biting my ear like a rabid dog.  I was yelling, "JB, stop!  I'll behave I promise!"  That is when I noticed a new kid sitting in the chair next to me, he was waiting for Mr. Nicholas.  His eyes were as big as serving platters.  That kid was scared ****less of the school he had just entered.

I met the kid later, Jeff Meuller (if I remember correctly).  Pretty nice kid.  He adjusted okay.

A pay phone? hmmm....ideathat must be that box out there by the highway that had a phone in it that didn't work. The one we use to climb on to change the reader board when I was in school. I don't know though....aww

Actually we used to have a pay phone in the building, right outside the lunch room. It was supposed to stop everyone from using the office phone but it didn't work out. Everyone kept asking the office for change and people would be on it in the middle of class, etc.

I remember that payphone.  Some of us Junior High girls used to use it to make prank calls to 1-800 numbers.  We made several reservations for airline tickets, dinner and hotel reservations, etc. under fake names.  I was called into the office once and asked if this was something we were doing, but I lied and said I'd never heard of anyone doing it.  Ha.  Easily amused back then!

A young man fell into a state of coma, but recovered before his friends had buried him. One of them asked what it felt like to be dead.
